The Big Apple Association Limited (the Society) is a Community Benefit Society registered with the Financial Conduct Authority under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 (the Act).

The Rules of the Society state that our Objects are “to carry on any business for the benefit of the community by organising events with a celebratory, promotional and educational purpose that focus on local orchards, apples and pears, cider and perry.”  You can read the full set of rules of the Society here.

The Society is owned and controlled by its Members on a fair and equitable basis.  Membership is open to anyone aged 16 or over and who supports the objects of the Society.

Shareholding

Members must also be shareholders of the Society.  Shares have a nominal value of £1 and are issued upon admission to membership.  The shares are neither transferable nor withdrawable, carry no right to interest, dividend or bonus, and shall be forfeited and cancelled on cessation of membership.  The amount paid for such cancelled shares shall become the property of the Society.  Each Member can hold one share only.

To apply for membership of the Society please download and print the application form, complete and return to the Registered Office by post.

DATA PROTECTION:  Under the terms of the Act a Register of Members must be maintained and available for inspection. The information contained on this form will be held on a database.  It will not be passed to any third party without your written consent.
