A Feast of Apples – displays of apples, cider fruit and perry pears; tastings of dessert and culinary fruit;
Apple identification by Marcher Apple Network (on the day where possible; extra charge if retained for investigation). Please please provide at least 3 typical, fairly ripe, examples of each variety, ideally with a stem and still attached to a small piece of branch with a leaf or two as these all aid accurate identification.
Apple market selling less usual varieties.
Sales stalls including
Jus – single variety local apple juice
Once upon a Tree – cider, perry and apple juice
Walcot Nurseries – fruit trees (due to circumstances beyond their control Walcot Nurseries are unable to attend)
Pork and Two Veg – pork baps

Sunday 15th October
10am to 1pm Japanese Woodblock Printmaking with artist/printmaker Rowan McOnegal. A short practical session introducing this water based printing technique from a culture with an acute sense of the seasons. Suitable for 18yrs +, booking essential, cost £20. 2pm DNA SSR fingerprinting – new opportunities for identification of apple and pear varieties. Talk by Marcher Apple Network. Haywain Barn
