National Moth Night Saturday June 7th 2008
The Schedule7th June: 1000-1200 Explored the habitat identifying as many life forms as possible, concentrating on Butterflies and Moths but also made other lists of Flora and Fauna. 1400-1600 Searched the Orchards for 'Celypha woodiana' mines in the mistletoe. 1600-2200 Set up time for Moth trappers. 2200-0400 Moth trapping. Mainly at Awnells but other traps at two other sites.
8th June: 0400-0800 Total up the catch and pot up specimens. Rest. 0800-0930 A breakfast barbecue and viewing. All records will be forwarded to Butterfly Conservation and the National Analysis will be published eventually in Atropos, an entomological journal. It should be a great opportunity to see lots of moths and other things and to make a genuine contribution to the National knowledge of our lepidoptera. We hope to be able to put some of this information on this page shortly. Examining the catch
