Orchards and Groves: Their History, Ecology, Culture and Archaeology

The Big Apple joined three other Herefordshire Orchard Projects speaking at this conference held at Sheffield Hallam University on 9th and 10th September 2008.

The conference, Orchards and Groves: Their History, Ecology, Culture and Archaeology, provided an opportunity to hear about some excellent projects around the UK and elsewhere in Europe as well as a chance to meet fellow orchard enthusiasts and share information and ideas for the future.

Jackie Denman, Secretary of The Big Apple Association, spoke about the background and aims of The Big Apple and presented the results of our Blossomtime survey of visitors, cider makers, volunteers and community organisations.
