Cider and Perry Trials
The annual Cider and Perry Trials held at Putley Village Hall have become an important fixture in the calendars of craft cider and perry producers in our region.
This is a peer-judged event with all the judging carried out by the entrants in a series of blind tastings.
There are categories for both draught and bottled ciders and perries and the public is invited to taste the entries over the two days following the trials.
In 2011 the event took place on Saturday, 30th April, at Putley Village Hall as usual.
67 cider and perry makers entered this year - almost the same as last year - with nearly 176 different ciders and perries to be sampled!
Standards were agreed to be very high but it is a contest so there have to be winners and a list can be downloaded here>>
In 2012 the event will be held on Saturday 5th May at the usual time and location.
Entry forms are being sent out to past entrants this week (w/c Feb 6th) and will shortly be avilable to download from this site..
